Cool Things About Making a Puzzle

We've been busy making new puzzles for the Holiday Season.  We've got puzzles for NC State fans, Yosef devotees, Tarheels and people that love bears.  Lots of new puzzles are about to debut, so keep watching this space.

What is really cool about making new puzzles is designing the Whimsy pieces.  Once we have the artwork, the next step is to figure out how to tell the story of the artwork through our specialty pieces.  We start with a conversation with the Artist about what they like.  For our University series, this often involves hearing about the Artist's love for their Alma Mater.  We hear great stories and cool anecdotes about formative times in the Artist's career.

Once we learn about the artist, we study the subject to find out what makes it special.  In our Appalachian State puzzle, for instance, the Mountains feature prominently.  We learned that Boone has the highest elevation of any city on the East Coast at 3,333 feet.  So, we include pieces to commemorate the elevated experience that most Mountaineers claim as their own.

The other parts of making a puzzle are cool, but creating the Whimsy pieces is the best.  We hope that you enjoy them!
